The Richard Holman house is a historic home that sits in the heart of a seaside village in Massachusetts. The house was badly neglected, but Jim Laverdiere of Fine Period Homes was determined to restore it inside and out to all of its period glory. While our part in the project was the kitchen, the adjoining keeping room, the pantry, and the bathrooms, every room in the house, as well as the exterior and the beautiful entry, was lovingly restored.
Every cabinet was handcrafted with hand-planed select New England pine and carefully fitted into the antique structure, the wood floors, the original brick work of the hearth, and the hand-hewn beams. The modern appliances may give it away, but we’re proud that most observers would swear that the cabinetry had been in that house for the last two hundred years.
“I can not recommend Kennebec Company more highly. The cabinetry is timeless, classic, ageless and just so absolutely well crafted.”
